Wraith

about

The song was largely inspired by W.P. Kinsella's short story, "Dance Me Outside."

lyrics

I wanna dance you outside
I wanna dance you inside out
I wanna hold your head high in victory
Scream, "Bout time you burned in hell with me."

Your fingertips still sting, lit cigarettes on phantom skin
Caustic carcass erode me from inside out, from outside in
And while I crumble, embers, i feel you breathing
Your rhythm stokes my rage, revulsion, seething

I wanna dance you outside
I wanna dance you inside out

But I am the wraith
Barely a memory
A forgotten fey
Your perverted reverie
Only a whisper
A flicker of smoke and ash
The pitiful remnants
Of a pleasurable drag

Your beer stale breath still stains my dreams, hot branding on my brain
Withered moans, your cologne, breaking me insane
And while I crumble, embers, i hear it beating
Your heart it somehow sings above my shrieking

I wanna dance you outside
I wanna dance you inside out

But I am the wraith
Barely a memory
A forgotten fey
Your perverted reverie
Only a whisper
A flicker of smoke and ash
The pitiful remnants
Of a pleasurable drag

I wanna dance you outside
I wanna dance you inside out

I wanna dance you outside
I wanna dance you inside out

I wanna dance you outside
I wanna hold your head high
Scream
'Bout time you burned in hell with me

But I am the wraith
Barely a memory
A forgotten fey
Your perverted reverie
Only a whisper
A flicker of smoke and ash
The pitiful remnants
Of a pleasurable drag
